This is because not all digital receivers automatically detect the arrival of a new channel.
C31 began it's digital simulcast of the current
analogue service on Friday 28th May 2010, with a two week test broadcast. As
this is a test period, there may be times when the signal is interrupted.
After the test period, the permanent digital service will begin on Friday
11th June 2010.
We are aware that some programs are being broadcast with a black border
around them. This is because many of our programs are not in widescreen, and
therefore not the correct size for our widescreen broadcast. This will be
phased out as we begin to accept widescreen programs.

4ARM
4ARM are: Danny Tomb - Vocals and Guitars, Michael Vafiotis - Drums, Andy Hinterreiter - Bass, Johnny Glovasa- Lead Guitar. Since 2004 4ARM have been a distinctive, explosive and musically aggressive band which has seen various publications label them ‘Groove-Core’. Through innovative design the band easily blends their old school Metal influences such as Metallica and Slayer along with the more modern sounds of Machine Head and Slipknot as well as incorporating individual experiences and finesse to create the next level of 'Thrash Metal' 2005 saw the band release their debut album titled “13 Scars”, rapidly building a growing fanbase. 4arm released 13 Scars through distribution company Green Media which gave the band international exposure with sales of the album reaching both Europe and the USA. As a result the band were able to obtain national endorsement deals with Randall Amplifiers, Mesa Engineering, ESP Guitars and Dean Markley strings. In 2006 the band was nominated as one of the Top 5 Metal Bands at the Music Oz Awards. Regular airplay on various radio stations and metal clubs as well as consistent live performances have enabled 4ARM to stay at the top of their game. In 2009 the band entered the studio again with engineer Ren Parese to record "The Empires Of Death" album. Containing more mature songwriting but still maintaing a raw aggressive sound "The Empires Of Death" is an inviting record for metal fans of all kind. The next few months will see the band embark on a national tour presented by Metal Promotions and Syn Fm to promote the album with aspirations of taking the show to the US and some parts of Europe. The growing success of 4ARM ensures the bands capability of leaving a lasting impression after every show.
Lookout for "4ARM" and their clip "Carnal" on the next few episodes of Underground Sounds.

DreamKillers Release their new CD 8th of May at The Hi Fi Bar in Brisbane,
All new tracks from the Dreamkillers , When it comes to new material, It's
been a long time between drinks for Brisbane thrash-punk stalwarts
Dreamkillers. It’s been 12 years since the band released ‘Character Building
Helltrip’, the last full-length album of original songs, which was released
on Roadrunner Records. This album also marked the end of an era for that
particular line-up, or at least on the studio front. Dreamkillers all but
became legend in the vaults of Australian metal and punk, but as with any
well-oiled creative entity, the hiatus - with all its ‘normal’ day-to-day
frustrations, would only strengthen the resolve of the driving force behind
the band. The results thus far are a collection of 5 tracks of trademark
Dreamkillers punk-metal, with an even greater level of intensity than
before. Songs of political hypocrisy, natural disaster, drug abuse, domestic
violence and all the lovely topics of conversation that DK fans have come to
expect. The EP, titled ‘Pockets of Water’, was recorded at Blackbox Studios
with acclaimed producer Jeff Lovejoy (Powderfinger, The Cruel Sea etc), who
has been instrumental in the production of earlier Dreamkillers recordings.
Mastering duties took place at Modern mastering by Dave Neil. While there’s
plenty of fast, metallic clout, there is also plenty of melodic phrases, and
of course the poetry of Jobson cannot be described in words. Make no
mistake, this is punk with a purpose – with all its danger in tact.. no
fashion driven ‘nu-core’ here! ‘Pockets of Water’ will be released in
Australia and New Zealand on Fri 7th May, distributed by MGM. It will also
be available for download through iTunes on said date. The CD launch party
is at The Hi-Fi, Brisbane on Sat 8th May, presented by ‘Renegades Empire’,
with special guests Lynchmada and Punxie and the Poison Pens. The CD, which
will be in a very colourful digipack format, will be available at the show,
as will new merchandise. The gig will be filmed for footage for an impending
filmclip, and there’s a few other surprises in store, so it’s going to be a
very special night indeed.
For tickets and outlets for the launch party visit

Underground Sounds will be their to film the show , so come down and scream

Chimaira Gig
Hailing from indian’s territory in the states six piece Cleveland band
Chimaira were here in Brisbane this month to ‘Spread the Infection’, for
there first Australian headlining Tour.
Fact was unfortunately for this well planned metal night was that the
Big Day Out was also commencing at the same time, this may have
threatened to put a downer on things or at least provide Chimaira with
poor attendance. Thankfully this was not the case as hundreds of true
metal fans unrelentingly filled the venue, seemingly taking little time
indeed to envoke the liquoring up process, chugging brews chatting with
metal mates and conserving there’re insanity ready for the mosh.
The night kicked off with local rising Gold Coast support act ‘Torn
Asunder’ with there solid vocals , pounding complex pattern of guitar
riffs and catchy drum beats , there aggressive yet melodic presence
provided a killer opening performance .
Adelaide boys Double Dragon is a name that’s been popping up everywhere
lately, touring with some of the biggest names within the metal industry
.They were in full form tonight having displayed the classic workmanship
there known for pumping the crowd up and belting out some jaw dropping
metal for fans and players alike.
Chimaira destroyed the venue’s stage opening up with ‘The Venom Inside’
making it near impossible for the already crazy crowd to stay still.
Ressurection ‘drove the crowd into a frenzy of self inflicting neck
injuries!!They also played an awesome resitation of ‘Implements of
Destruction’with Mark Hunter shredding flawlessly on his six string
thing which seemed to provoke the crowd into an almost euphoric type
state of hate.
The atmosphere was truley Amazing!!! There ferocious precision combined
with there synchronicity throws into little dispute that they have
achieved the status of a remarkablely talented, ever evolving metal six
piece. I must announce that Chimaira in a live setting are simply
untouchable. Marks punishing unrelenting vocals and Ando’s precussion
could be likened to nothing less than a couple of pissed off tipan’s
nailing there’re precise and insane segments with both well timed bite
and extreem force. Both Rob and Matt carried the guitarist’s roles off
with sheer technical excellence not to mention a 666 inspired driving
force behind every string stroke. After entering yet another metal venue
and having my face blown off, It’s easy to understand why metal fans
across the globe are drawn to there music. Myself and the whole of metal
Australia will be eagerly awaiting there return!!!
I would also like to say a special thank you to Kelli Wright, you’re
awesome.
